INTRODUCING
BFP Junior™

Junior
taps into your child's natural inclination to want to 'beat the
game' by providing four increasingly challenging exercises. Children
from 6 through 12 can work at levels that stretch and engage them,
all the while strengthening the critical intellectual capacities of
working memory, focus, and attention.

Self-Improvement, Academic &
Occupational Success
The right kind of focused brain-training can stimulate
new neural growth and brain plasticity. Ironically, the modern
world tends to produce poor conditions for brain improvement.
Competing demands for focus and attention, busy schedules, and
information overload all disrupt the brain's ability to form
memories and stimulate new cell growth. Since Brain Fitness Pro
demands complete focus and simultaneously trains all core areas of
brain function (working-memory, processing speed, and left-brain
right-brain interaction) it provides an efficient and highly
effective way to improve memory, concentration, and mental ability
at any stage in life.Since
Brain Fitness Pro increases fluid intelligence it is particularly
suitable for anyone soon to take a standardized test (such as the
SAT, ACT, GRE, MCAT, etc.), or working in a mentally demanding
field.
Mind Sparke customers have also remarked on a number of less
immediately obvious benefits that come from training working-memory,
multi-tasking, and fluid intelligence. Training users who play a
musical instrument consistently report dramatic and permanent
improvements in hand-eye coordination and musical ability. Customers
have also noted a much higher threshold for mental overload leading
to an increased ability to relate and negotiate internal and with
others in their daily lives.
Health And Mental Well-Being
The UCSF Memory and Aging Center reports that for each decade past
the age of forty-five we lose about 10% of our cognitive capacity.
Joe Verghese, M.D. (New England Journal of Medicine, volume=348,
issue=25, 2003) found that people can reduce their risk of
developing Alzheimer's symptoms by 64% by adding a brain exercise to
their weekly schedule. He also showed that people who engage in
brain exercise four times a week have a 47% lower risk of dementia
than those who do so just once a week. If we want to avoid mental
decline in later years we should begin to engage in regular mental
exercise much sooner, while we're in our thirties or early forties.

Several recent studies
have connected brain health with mental health. In one, researchers
from UT Southwestern Medical Center† showed
that the effectiveness of anti-depressants can depend upon the
growth of new nerves in the part of the brain called the dentate
gyrus. Although anti-depressants themselves can stimulate this
growth, so too can the training of working-memory. Another study‡ showed
that stress, a cause of depression, inhibits brain cell growth.
Effective brain training can create a virtuous cycle of brain
exercise, challenge, reward, and cell growth that helps combat and
reduce the impact of depression.
The Mind Sparke Mission
Mind Sparke aims to publish highly effective and affordable brain
training products. By starting from sound scientific principles and
focusing on the effectiveness of the training, we believe that it is
